BRON vs Clio · For litigation firms
Keep the tools you trust. Connect the work between them.
A missing email becomes a client request. The returned evidence informs the deposition outline, the next draft and the review on your desk. Evaluate BRON on that whole assignment, while keeping the firm systems you already depend on.
When to evaluate Clio
Evaluate Clio Manage for firm operations and Clio Work for research, document analysis and drafting with matter context. A firm already using Clio should test its relevant products before deciding where another workflow adds value.

Evidence, scope and limits
Client work
BRON: The client can provide an item, ask for clarification or explain why it cannot be provided. An accepted Collector scope can search supported local Mac sources; the firm reviews what comes back.
Clio: Clio Manage offers client communication, a client portal and matter-management tools. Test your actual request-and-response workflow in the package offered.
Ask in the demo: Give a client a missing-evidence request. Follow both a returned document and a cannot-find response into the team's next work.
Legal work
BRON: Direct an assignment in Chambers. Desk organizes tasks and workflows, including work awaiting review. Reviewed evidence can inform discovery, deposition preparation and settlement work on the same matter.
Clio: Clio Work's Vincent uses matter context for legal research, document analysis and drafted work. It includes workflows for arguments, depositions, timelines and document review.
Ask in the demo: Prepare for the same deposition, introduce contrary evidence, then inspect the sources, draft and remaining tasks.
Firm admin
BRON: BRON includes time, billing and settlement work. A reviewed closing statement can feed separate trust-payment proposals; it does not release funds. Prove the required accounting and migration flows before considering replacement.
Clio: Manage covers firm operations, including time, billing, payment and trust-account workflows. Confirm which products, payment services and terms the proposal includes.
Ask in the demo: Identify the system that owns each invoice, payment and financial record during the pilot.
Adoption
BRON: Start with a guided demonstration, then agree a limited pilot. Confirm the supported connections, document transfer and review criteria. Starting alongside Clio does not imply a live integration or automatic synchronization.
Clio: Work connects legal AI to Manage context. Clio also publishes Vincent inside Operate for large-firm workflows. Evaluate the actual product combination being proposed.
Ask in the demo: Run the chosen assignment from request to review and name every transfer or update that remains manual.
The useful question is what happens between the client’s response and the lawyer’s decision. Test that sequence in BRON and in the Clio products on your shortlist. Keep the systems that meet your requirements while you establish the next workflow’s value.

you need to buy.
BRON and Clio overlap in parts of the work. Your decision depends on the whole assignment, the tools already in place and the result your lawyers can use. These are starting points for evaluation.
- BRON
Client requests, evidence and the next review
Evaluate one litigation assignment across the client response, accepted collection scope, reviewed evidence, drafting and Desk workflow.
Begin with a fictional demonstration. Agree a limited pilot and its supported scope before using client material.
- Clio Work and Manage
Connected legal analysis and firm operations
Clio Work publishes research, a citator, matter analysis and drafting. Manage publishes case management, billing, payments and client communication tools.
Confirm product access, implementation and contract terms in writing.
- Alongside your existing tools
A workflow first. A wider decision later.
Keep the systems your firm depends on while testing a specific assignment. Name the tools, transfers, owners and review steps involved.
Confirm each supported connection. A pilot is not a promise of complete replacement or automatic synchronization.

One returned email.
Several pieces of work move forward.
In North Harbor, Garcia and Smith disagree about notice. Alex Chen prepares memorandum v4 with the returned email and both accounts for Elena Rivera to review.
That source can inform the notice memorandum, deposition questions and settlement discussion. Receipt and reading remain unresolved, so the draft proposes a request for Smith's copy of the May 2 email, its delivery records, and the review-meeting notes. Desk keeps the outstanding work with its owner and review step.
The email arrived. Notice is still disputed.
Garcia emailed Smith the defect report on May 2. The email does not show when Smith received or read it, so both accounts still stand.

“The first time I heard about that defect was after May 4.”

North Harbor / Notice memorandum · v4
Notice of the defect
The timing of notice remains disputed. Garcia testified that he told Smith of the defect before May 4, 2025.1 Smith testified that he first learned of the defect after that date.2
Garcia emailed Smith the defect report on May 2, 2025.3 The email does not show when Smith received or read it.
Proposed request: Smith's copy of the May 2 email, its delivery records, and the review-meeting notes.

Clio alternatives, pricing and switching
Add a workflow before planning a move.
BRON pricing starts with the work, the people reviewing it and the tools you need to keep. Agree the scope before moving a client matter.
What is the difference between BRON and Clio?
BRON connects litigation work across the client, evidence collection, analysis, drafting and review. Clio Manage covers firm operations, and Clio Work connects legal research, analysis and drafting to matter context. Clio Operate addresses another set of firm requirements. Compare the specific products and the whole assignment your team needs to perform.
Can we use BRON alongside Clio?
Yes, that is the intended starting approach: agree one connected litigation workflow while keeping the tools you rely on. Confirm how documents, tasks and records will move between systems. This is not a promise of live Clio synchronization or a complete migration.
Who should evaluate BRON as a Clio alternative?
Our initial focus is US commercial-litigation teams in firms of roughly 10–100 lawyers. Evaluate BRON when the work you want to improve crosses the client, the evidence search and the lawyer's review. If the immediate need is an established billing or practice-management setup, assess Clio Manage on those requirements first.
Does Clio offer substantive legal AI?
Yes. Clio Work offers legal research, document analysis, case strategy and drafting through Vincent, with Clio Manage matter context. The comparison is about the workflow and product scope your firm needs, not whether Clio has AI.
What can we try today?
Request a guided BRON demonstration with fictional matter data. A limited pilot can follow once scope, supported capabilities, data handling and review criteria are agreed. BRON has not yet been tested on a live matter. Lawyers direct and review the work.
Is BRON cheaper than Clio?
We have not established a cost advantage. BRON has no public rate card; scope and price are agreed in writing. Compare equivalent users, modules, research access, implementation, migration, support and contract terms. A demo request creates no subscription or pilot commitment.
