Before you begin
- The matter's claims, elements and relevant trial records.
What to do
- Open the matter, then Trial and Before trial. Review the sections shown for this matter and identify the decisions your team needs to prepare. If a section cannot load, retry rather than interpreting it as no work remaining.
- Inspect suggested motion in limine targets against their sources. These may arise from contradictions, hot-document coding or opposing exhibits. A suggested target identifies material for counsel to review; it does not supply an established ground for exclusion.
- Read instruction outlines as a checklist of the matter's recorded claims and elements. Locate the placeholders for legal standards. Counsel must supply and verify the applicable authority before turning an outline into a proposed instruction.
- Check transcript designations against the current transcript. A corrected transcript can flag affected designations for review and propose fact updates. Read the correction itself before deciding what needs to change in the team's preparation.
- Return to Order of proof and Index to check how the reviewed items affect the witness and exhibit plan. Preserve unresolved questions as work for counsel. If a needed tool is unavailable, use the firm's existing preparation process and confirm availability with BRON.
What you should see
The team can identify which pretrial items rest on recorded material and which still need counsel's legal analysis, authority or review before they are used.
Limits and unresolved problems
Three trial views work today; other tools are in development. Outlines leave legal authority and motion grounds to counsel. Filing an instruction requires the same citation review as other outgoing work.
