BRON for Mac

Provide an encrypted iPhone backup through BRON for Mac

The firm's request names material in an iPhone backup, or BRON for Mac refuses the backup you selected.

Before you begin

  • BRON for Mac on macOS 15 or later and a request naming the backup source.
  • An encrypted iPhone backup you are authorized to provide and the password needed to decrypt it.

What to do

  1. Read the firm's request and confirm which phone, backup and dates it concerns. Ask the firm if the request is unclear before selecting a backup from a shared computer or another person's device.
  2. Locate the encrypted backup on the Mac using the instructions for your device and backup software. Keep the original backup available. Do not replace an older backup that may matter to the request without discussing it with the firm.
  3. In BRON for Mac, use the backup source named by the accepted request and select the intended encrypted backup. Provide the backup password only through the application's designated prompt. Do not paste it into a support message or include it in a screenshot.
  4. If BRON reports that the backup is unencrypted, stop and contact the firm about supplying an appropriate encrypted backup. BRON refuses an unencrypted one. Changing its filename or compressing it does not turn it into an encrypted iPhone backup.
  5. Read the collection result and identify any item that could not be read or copied. Give the firm the reported reason and the backup's identifying details, without sending credentials. Keep a missing or unreadable outcome separate from material successfully received.

What you should see

BRON for Mac can process a supported encrypted backup within the accepted request and report what it received or could not obtain.

Limits and unresolved problems

This is collection from a backup through a Mac, not an iPhone collection app. It does not recover deleted items or establish that a backup contains everything on the phone. Ask the firm how to address an unavailable backup or unknown password.
